Trying your own bakery is... trying. (Open.)

There's a ton that Raleigh doesn't know. Of course there is - everybody's got that stuff, things that they don't really have an interest in figuring out. That being said, she got this chance - this ridiculous chance, and that's why she's currently sitting down outside of the local coffeeshop, and she's... looking.

She's looking at the binder her boss gave her, that's got expenses and income, because she's theoretically doing inventory because he asked her to, even though it made no sense.

But... she gets numbers. For the first time she gets numbers, and Raleigh stares at the books, because she knows how much she gets paid. She knows how much a pastry sells for.

And now, she can see exactly the sort of profit her boss is getting. "Holy shit." She stared down at the box again, and she shakes her head, and she starts to wonder - not for the first time - about starting this herself, and pay the people working for her a decent, llving wage.

Now, if only she knew where to start...

"Seaside Bakery I think?" Genevieve said, twisting up her face a bit as she tried to remember. Just about everything here was 'Siren Cove this' or 'Seaside that' so they all kind of blended together a bit to her. Except for the Quill, that was easy to remember. It didn't matter though because Raleigh was smiling so big and Genevieve couldn't help but get a little excited.

"Oh, it could be mind-blowingly amazing if you let it, Raleigh."

"Oh, well, bravo then," Genevieve said. If she was the one that was responsible for their success that meant if she went to start her own business then she probably wouldn't have to worry about competition for long. She just had to worry about starting up an entire business and all that. No biggie, right?

"You should celebrate."

Genevieve thought that was a bit of an overreaction for a complete stranger to have over being told that people really liked her stuff. If you were super into baking though, she supposed that would be incredibly exciting to hear. Having never really been into anything like that, Genevieve couldn't say that she'd experienced a reaction like that.

"I've eaten, but I could go for a bite. What about you?" she asked.

"What if it's not the pastries I'm interested in, but the baker?" she asked, casually arching an eyebrow. She'd found that it was best to kind of just throw yourself out there. She hated playing the, "Is she or isn't she into girls?" game and found the best way to circumvent it was to be overt. Flirty and upfront had always worked wonders for her. Either the flirting was returned or she knew where they stood. Either way it was a win.

"Pastries sounds good," Genevieve said, rather amused at the girl's reaction. It was like that sometimes and honestly she found it kind of adorable. It was a perfectly fine way to be let down and meant that things wouldn't be weird between them. At least she hoped that they wouldn't be weird.

"And I'm always up for making new friends."

Genevieve had to give a little laugh at the relief in Raleigh's expression when Genevieve backed off a bit. It was a really sweet reaction and it endeared the girl to Genevieve even more. It seemed like they might actually be decent friends after all if she was really this sweet.

"I'm still pretty new here so I'm just adjusting, mostly. Doing a bit of classes online and visiting the beach and such. Cruising for cute baker girls, that sort of thing. I'll probably have to get a job before too long."

"Yeah, until then I'll just do whatever I need to so I can pay the bills, right?" Genevieve said. That was mostly what her life was going to be up until it was over. Her mom at least loved her nursing job, even if she did it to make sure that they had a place to live and enough to eat. Seemed kinda of shitty to Genevieve that you could find you passion and it still didn't pay very much.

"I'd love to hang out. I'm pretty new here too, although I've got some family in town. But I can pick you to be my friend, I'm stuck with my family."

"The family here is both okay AND weird," Genevieve said with a laugh. Coop wasn't all like she had expected him to be based on all she heard from their grandparents. Yes, Coop was the glorious golden child whom everything they said about was true in terms of all that he had done. He was also a ton of fun and the biggest man-whore she had met. Which gave them a lot to talk about.

"But he's been really great, especially considering I just sort of showed up on his doorstep out of the blue."
