"You weren't listening," Joseph said, not bothering to hide the disdain in his voice. She wouldn't do a very good job of telling his story if she didn't listen. He would certainly have to fix that once he got a pair of manacles for her. Once that happened then she would be perfect, she would be exactly as he needed her.

"If I don't complete the ceremony tonight, I will die. I'm not willing to let that happen."

His partner came in then and unchained the girl, grabbing her tight around the wrist. If she tried to attack him or get away his partner would show her what a poor idea that was.
