"Really? I thought I felt something there, but I brushed it off." He always brushes things off. That's the night she called him charming. He did test the waters, in his own way, but he backed off immediately, not wanting to take "advantage" of something as innocent as a dinner with a very kind person. He shifts a bit when she calls him special, something he's never heard in his life. He's been a nobody, made a living out of blending in.
